Wiley X has developed a special technology to combine style and functionality in its glasses. Naturally, the design department is in charge of the style, but the research and development department is not far behind, thanks to which we can now better perceive colors, brightness and contrast through Wiley X glasses.
Captivate are Wiley X's special patented eyeglass lenses that are available in different colors with mutually different properties that you can use in different situations. However, some features are common to all variants - and we will now introduce them.
More saturated color reproduction
Thanks to Captivate lenses, the eye of the wearer of Wiley X glasses is able to better perceive real colors, which have better visual properties, especially saturation and brightness. This is because the Captivate lenses are able to filter the interfering light that occurs at the blue, green and red wavelength transitions of the color spectrum.
Beneficial and harmful blue light
Analogous to beneficial and harmful cholesterol, there is also beneficial and harmful blue light. The beneficial things that positively affect the biological clock, or the sleep cycle of a person, pass through the Captivate lenses. This type of blue light helps to increase alertness and better memory and even has a positive effect on mood. On the other hand, harmful blue light (that of short wavelengths) creates a so-called "visual haze" around the objects in front of our eyes. Captivate lenses contribute to clearer vision by filtering out this short-wavelength blue light.
In addition to harmful HEV blue light, Wiley X Captivate lenses can also filter out UV radiation – both of which can ultimately cause cataracts or macular degeneration.
Perception of space and depth
Captivate lenses also help the wearer of Wiley X glasses to better perceive space and depth, thanks to the clarification and saturation of colors in space and the filtering of optical haze. Last but not least, Captivate lenses improve vision and increase contrast in a variety of environments. This time depending on the color of the specific lenses.
Increased resistance
Last but not least, Captivate lenses can also boast of increased resistance, especially to scratches and abrasions, specifically at level 7 of the Bayer scale. At the same time, level 4 and higher is considered a premium protective coating.
In addition to above-average physical resistance, Captivate lenses also have an oleophobic treatment that repels not only oils, but also dust, dirt, snow and water. Thanks to this oleophobic treatment, dirt runs off the surface and does not leave stains. This also makes cleaning the lenses easier.
