Polarization

In order to properly understand the concept of polarization, we have to start a bit broadly, directly with the Sun - its source. It is from the Sun that (for us) ordinary daylight spreads in all directions into space, in waves that oscillate randomly in all directions. Daylight then becomes polarized light (ie light that only oscillates in two planes: horizontal and vertical) when it reflects off a shiny object (water surface, glass, ...).

The fact that the glasses are dark does not automatically mean that they have a UV filter or a polarizing filter. And even when they claim this about themselves, it is not always completely true - this is especially true for stall sales of dubious quality and uncertain origin.

Vertically polarized light is useful for the eyes - it allows us to see in color and contrast. On the other hand, horizontally polarized light is responsible for all kinds of glare and optical noise. Well, it is precisely the horizontal polarization of light that polarizing lenses/filters in protective or dioptric glasses try to suppress.

What are the benefits of polarized lenses?

When any person puts on polarized lenses, they see better, without glare and with more contrast. When everything is additionally combined with the corresponding equally high-quality UV filter + lens shade for different times of the day and environment, this is the best background and luxury that you can give your tired and screen-overloaded eyes today. As a secondary positive effect, a person also sees better and does not feel so tired from the light.

It doesn't really matter what kind of activity you do, and it doesn't even have to be work, survival, or military - all you have to do is ride a bike or go for sports to appreciate the comfort that similar glasses provide. At least with them you will no longer have to squint your eyes against light while driving a car. When running an active hobby on the water (such as rafting or fishing), they will again take over the disturbing reflections of the surface. Kicking a ball etc. is also easier with them against the Sun. In short, good polarized glasses will improve the quality of all your work and personal activities.

Choosing the perfect glasses according to your style requirements is certainly smart, but choosing them according to the requirements of your eyes is clearly and unequivocally wise…

How do I know that the glasses are really polarized?

In the era of cheap fakes of everything, it's not worth risking the most valuable thing you have - the quality of your eyesight. So, how do you tell that a particular model is polarized?

If you take two pairs of polarized glasses and put them behind each other, you can see through them normally. But once you turn them 90°, you won't see anything. How so, you ask? Because one block horizontal waves and the other vertical waves, so you can't see anything. Well, that's the trick...
