PCTG

If we were to refer to the PCTG material in the text by its full name, it would take up almost an entire line. The full name of this copolymer is modified polycyclohexylene dimethyl terephthalate glycol. This is a plastic that, thanks to its properties, is successfully used, for example, in food and drink containers.

Its big advantage is that it does not contain bisphenols such as BPA or BPS, which are substances that can be harmful in contact with food. Thanks to this, drinking bottles can be made from PCTG plastic, for example. At the same time, this material retains the properties of polycarbonates with excellent resistance to impact and to the effects of chemicals. PCTG has excellent transparency as well and it is even largely immune to gamma radiation.

PCTG is used for 3D printing and also for printing mechanical components, as compared to "competing" plastics, it offers a stronger connection between the individual layers and a smoother surface of the finished product. In addition, it does not deform up to a temperature of 76 °C.
