Laser cut

Laser cut slots are based on the PALS binding concept. It is so far the latest, modern and elegant solution. Unlike the classic PALS webbing, this system delivers a noticeably lower profile for luggage, gear and equipment, has a lower weight, also eliminates the most stressed points known from PALS binding—the places where the straps are stitched—and reduces bulkiness, especially for gear such as, for example, a tactical vest with large areas of binding. Of course, the system is also compatible with equipment with older PALS binding, thanks to keeping the same dimensions and spacing of the slots. Laser cut slots are in most cases cut in very durable and resistant Cordura 1000D nylon (some manufacturers use 500D – 600D). The undoubted advantage also lies in the fact that even the most modern camouflage patterns can be applied to the fabric and at the same time there is no need to apply the same pattern or the corresponding shade to the webbing. In the most modern camouflage patterns, NIR treatment against detection by night vision devices is also used (this treatment would also have to be applied to the webbing in the case of a classic PALS binding).

One of the first brands to use this solution for their products was Direct Action. Like the previous PALS carrier system, this one is primarily intended for modular tactical equipment, such as tactical vests and ballistic plate carriers or backpacks, tactical belts, various carrier panels and many other equipment. The most common application of Laser cut is still found in the area of products for the army and other armed forces, but the slots are already used by manufacturers of outdoor backpacks and other equipment.

Equipment and accessories with PALS binding, which we refer to as MOLLE, are attached to the Laser cut system. An alternative to the Laser cut support system is the PALS system. As it follows from the above, these systems are completely compatible with each other, so for example a MOLLE holster with PALS binding can be attached to Laser cut slots or a bag with Laser cut slots to PALS binding, etc.

MOLLE or PALS?

The terms PALS and MOLLE are often confused and are generally understood to mean the same thing. But MOLLE is a complete system of equipment and the PALS binding is a part of it.
