Hardshell

Are you looking for reliable protection against cloudbursts, strong winds or snowfall? Hardshell has your back in all cases. The highly resistant layer prevents the penetration of water and wind and at the same time provides sufficient breathability, so you won't feel like you're in a greenhouse.

Hardshell is the ideal choice for conditions that will test your determination and strength. It accompanies you on challenging journeys and provides you with protection and comfort despite heavy rain and unpleasant cold.

High resistance to water and snow

Hardshell is extremely water resistant, so even if you get caught in a cloudburst on the way, you don't need to carry spare clothes. You can easily withstand heavy rain or a storm without having to change into dry clothes. Of course, you can also use the hardshell in winter. It is great for climbing mountains, skiing or skating in cold weather.

It can handle even strong winds

Hardshell is not only waterproof, it can also withstand strong winds. You don't have to worry about an unpleasant, cold wind blowing through your jacket or pants. Hardshell keeps you warm.

Hardshell can withstand rain and strong wind.

Hardshell is breathable but…

Jackets and other clothing are breathable, but you cannot count on complete breathability. Manufacturers try to maximize your comfort, so they keep developing better and better materials that allow better circulation of water vapor. Currently, however, it is important to take into account that hardshell balances high water resistance with lower breathability, which you will feel especially in the summer months.

Light and easily portable material

Although hardshell jackets are slightly heavier than softshell jackets, they still maintain a low weight. They are also compact and easy to carry, so they won't take up much space in your backpack.

Two or three layers?

Thinking about whether to choose a two- or three-layer hardshell jacket or pants? The three-layer hardshell consists of an outer fabric, a membrane and an inner fabric that protects the membrane. All of these 3 components are laminated together to create what appears to be a single integral fabric.

In a double-layer hardshell jacket, the membrane and outer fabric are laminated together to form one material. But the difference is that the protective mesh is not laminated to the outer fabric or membrane in this case. It hangs loose on the inside so it looks like two fabrics. A two-layer hardshell therefore creates a stronger impression than a three-layer one.

In order for the hardshell to fulfill its function to the maximum, the impregnation layer needs to be renewed regularly.

Where can I use hardshell?

Simply anywhere you expect rain, snow and strong winds. Hardshell is suitable for high altitudes, but also works reliably in the lowlands. If you are going on a trek on frozen ridges, plan to ice skate on a frozen lake, or pass through a windy and rainy area. In short, Hardshell is the ideal partner for discomfort.

How to take care of hardshell?

Hardshell needs to be properly cared for. If you find any dirt on your jacket or trousers, it is better to clean it thoroughly. Small dirt retains moisture, thereby impairing proper functioning. We also recommend regularly renewing the impregnation layer with the help of high-quality water-repellent products.
