Gap in the market and rapid uptake

Brock Hutchinson took care of the creation of the Big Frig brand. He realized that he had discovered a gap in the market when he was ordering a large quantity of thermal mugs from China for one of his customers. At that time, he became convinced that there was not much choice in this market segment. And so he decided to start producing similar products himself.

In addition to thermos mugs and thermoses, Big Frig focuses on portable cooling boxes, including highly specialized ones aimed at transporting livestock vaccines, which are extremely susceptible to temperature changes. Like thermos mugs and other dining utensils, the coolers that were on the market before Big Frig were not satisfying Brock Hutchinson. They were either too expensive or not good enough.

In short, Big Frig is a start-up from the state of South Dakota, which was created in the head of one person. It wasn't until February 2016 that the brand brought its first coolers to the market and was such a success that it soon grew into a multi-million dollar annual business. "Roto-molded" boxes

The Big Frig brand first came to the market with roto-molded cooling boxes, which are also highly durable and almost indestructible thanks to this procedure. They provide resistance to falling, scratching, abrasion and solar UV radiation. For the sake of interest, let us mention that in just a few years Big Frig has become a specialist in a certain type of cooling boxes, namely those intended for the vaccination of livestock in the field. Hutchinson, who comes from the traditionally pastoral state of South Dakota, met daily with people who were dissatisfied with what the competition had to offer.

For us and our customers, however, the more important feature of the Big Frig brand range are the dining utensils, specifically thermos mugs and thermoses, which we can recognize from competitors' products at first glance. Especially those thermos mugs that have a specific shape – they are narrower at the bottom and widen at the top. This is due to ergonomics, because mugs of this shape simply hold better and do not just slip out of your hand.

The individual pieces differ from each other essentially only in volume and will keep a hot drink hot and a cold one cold for dozens of hours.
